Royal Date

Okay, okay, you are definitely going to have to suspend some disbelief to read this series. But you should do it because it is a fun one and how many contemporary romances do you find where the heroine refuses to even kiss?

Kat is a graduate student who is spending the Christmas vacation with her wealthy roommate at a ski resort in Europe. It is a bit of a break for her before she heads back to finish up her Master's degree for which she just found her her research project has been defunded. She's not in the mood for some guy to start trying to chat her up while she's reading.

Later that day she mistakenly gets off the beginner slope and has an accident. She is helped by the man she rebuffed and sent to the hospital. When she is fully awake a few days later she realizes that she was rescued by the Crown Prince of the small country they are in and that she is recuperating in the palace. Her roommate, Lemon, is making plans to help the family with their social media presence for her marketing thesis. The prince's younger sisters have decided to adopt her. She can't just take off.

Nico is intrigued by this woman who prefers playing with his sisters to the trappings of royal life. He just needs to get past all the walls she's put up to protect her feelings.

I love slow burn and actually romantic romances. This book has that down.

This is Lemon's story with one of Prince Nico's younger twin brothers, Dante. As part of Lemon's marketing plan for the royal family she wanted Nico to go on a dating reality show. As his relationship with Kat became more involved, her idea changed to include Dante instead. Dante had been flirting with her since they met so she was able to talk him into it.

In this book you get to see flashbacks of events that happened in book one but see it from Lemon or Dante's perspective. You also get an idea of what happens behind the scenes on those dating shows as Lemon gets thrown into it. She is promised that Dante will let her go in the first round but he decides to keep her around so she can give him intelligence on the other contestants.

Lemon has been so determined to ignore Dante that she even agrees to marry the man that her parents want her to marry. Now she's stuck with Dante until the show is finished and she can go home and get married. All she has to do is help Dante find another woman to fall in love with.

This book deals a lot with trust issues which is hard to do on the set of a reality show.

Genesis has had bad experiences with men who lie. Being humiliated on a reality show is unforgivable to her. But now the man who broke her heart, Rafe shows up in her small town in Iowa. She's rented the gatehouse on her farm for 1 year to prove to her that he is sincere in wanting to be with her.

He's also throwing money around the town and making everyone like him. His bodyguards have paid for a year in advance at a struggling bed and breakfast. He bought every book on the library's wish list. He's building sets for the school play. He opened an office in town and hired struggling workers. Genesis isn't falling for it though. She knows she can't trust him.

I loved this whole series. I like how the author wove no kissing rules into each story in different ways. That means that the romance is actually based on talking and doing things for each other instead of just falling into bed with each other. It makes it different from other books.
