Cover Her Face is the debut 1962 crime novel of P. D. James. It details the investigations by her poetry-writing detective Adam Dalgliesh into the death of a young, ambitious maid, surrounded by a family which has reasons to want her gone – or dead. The title is taken from a passage from John Webster's The Duchess of Malfi: "Cover her face. Mine eyes dazzle; she died young."

Decent murder mystery, oldfashioned unlikeable charaters

I've wanted some more recent procedurals, kind of like police TV series, just in book form, this was my first try.

It was a decent book, I kind of liked it, but I didn't like any other characters than the detective really, and it all feld rather old fashioned, the 2001 release must have been a rerelase I think of an older book? At least it felt that way. All in all it was decent, but it was kind of a bit of a drag to get through.
