junji ito's writing is honestly kinda hit or miss for me, but i think this is some of his best work that i've read so far. everything ranked below the bloody tale of shirosuna here were misses for me, but the top three were special enough to make up for them.
ranked, best to worst: the strange tale of the tunnel > tombs > floaters > clubhouse > slug girl > the bloody tale of shirosuna > bronze statue > washed ashore > the window next door

Every story in this is good, while the standout stories (the majority) are excellent. If you're a horror, or Junji Ito, fan - this is well worth it.
