Beloved : a pair of ivory with articulated arms and legs found in a tomb of a little from a wealthy family in Emona, Ljubljana/#Slovenia. The majority of the dolls in Roman times were made of less valuable materials such as clay, wood or linen.
The two dolls that could be dressed with clothes must have been very precious to the girl who died far too young.
Dating 2nd half of the 3rd c. AD.

The picture shows two dolls with movable shoulders, elbows, hips and knee joints. The legs of both dolls are partially broken off. One doll's arm is almost completely missing. The limbs and torso are very long, the breasts small. The faces are largely destroyed. The hair is combed back behind the ears, reaching down to the shoulders at the nape. The ivory, which is actually white, has turned brown over time.

Fascinating world of ancient : unique flasks in the shape of a pair of sandals. They were used to hold oil or perfume. Found in a woman's burial in Cologne, dating late 2nd/early 3rd c. AD.

The picture shows flask in the shape of a pair of thonged sandals made of colorless glass with a greenish tinge. The straps are decorated with blue glass.

For the theatre at Pergamon, , built in the 3rd century BC, alterations were made in the period. It's one of the steepest known ancient theatres. The capacity was about 10,000 spectators.
