L' orazione proibita

On the grounds of unpublished documents discovered in the Roman archives of the Sant’Uffizio, only recently open to scholars, the volume reconstructs the censorial policy of the Roman ecclesiastical authorities towards a vast section of 16th century editorial production, that was intended to create and increase the devotion of believers and to enlighten unknown aspects of the cultural policy followed by the Roman Church in early modern times.
