It can track and organize financial information, reduce manual data entry by a significant amount. It helps automate book-keeping, invoicing, time tracking, sales tax management, budgeting, bank reconciliation, and inventory management.

Quickbooks also provides utilities for accepting payments, payroll processing, time tracking, and inventory management. Quickbooks started as a desktop application and later joined the cloud bandwagon, with the most recent versions being entirely cloud-based.
